Getting a healthy glowing skin, does not just depend on how much we care for the outward, but it also entails what our body accommodates through what is eaten.

It’s been proven through many studies, that what we eat have the potency of affecting the quality of our skin.

People with Acne prone skin, tend to consume more of carbohydrate than those with little or no Acne, according to a research.

Below are 5 Foods to avoid to maintain a healthy glowing Skin

1. Processed Meat

Processed meat might contain Nitrate which is dangerous to the skin’s health which could lead to an increased inflammation and wrinkled skin.

Nitrate on it’s own might not cause any harm to the processed meats as it helps tp increase it’s shelf life as well as give the meat it’s flavour.

The harm is done when it is ingested. The Nitrate is converted to Nitrites which is carcinogenic in nature.

The nitrite is released when the processed meat is heated up.

Some examples of processed meats are hot dogs, bacon, sausages, ham etc

2. Coffee ( In excess)

Coffee can reduce the hydration level of the body. It is known to be diuretic in nature.

being that our skin cells is made up of water, consuming Coffee on a regular basis can lead to dehydration which affects the skin.

the way to balance it up, is to take in lots of water after the coffee consumption to balance up the hydration level.

3. Spicy Foods

It’s known that alot of people love a spicy twist to their food.

While this might be unconventionally exciting, it can also be at the detriment of your Skin goals.

According to a study, spicy foods like chilli, hot sauce e.t.c could lead to inflammation which can lead to increased skin sensitivity and sebum production.

This could lead to Acne outbreak. It is therefore important to eat spicy foods with high moderation.

4. Chips and Fries

Did i hear you say “oh no..?” Well oh yes! Fries and chips contains a lot of oils which could lead to an inflammation, wrinkling and breakout of the skin.

It is advisable to eat less of fried foods so as to limit the oil intake in the body.

5. Soda /Carbonated drinks

Soda is known to damage the collagen supply which can invariably affect the Skin’s texture and elasticity.

It is known to contain phosphate of which when consumed, can thin out the skin layers and cause early aging.

It can be a great temptation to want to consume this alot, but knowing that it’s consumption can be detrimental to the overall skin health, should discourage its consumption.
