National Assembly leadership meets with President Tinubu

In preparation for a smooth take-off of activities of governance, the new President of Nigeria, Bola Tinubu as met with the leadership of the ninth National Assembly at the presidential villa, Abuja.

The meeting is amongst several the President has had with top government officials, since his resumption of office. But the meeting with the leadership of the National Assembly happens to be the first.

In attendance were, the former President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, respectively.

The essence of the meeting could be to build and ensure corporation, mutual support and understanding between the executive and the legislature, considering the enormous task of governance awaiting the new administration.

It is expected that the lawmakers discuss the upcoming inauguration of the 10th National Assembly, which is scheduled for June 13.

The issue of leadership of both chambers have been in the front burner prior to the inauguration, and likely, the matter may have been part of the meeting.
