Kwara woman tells court how she got pregnant without sexual intercourse

A middle-age woman from Kwara State, named, Taibat Abubakar, has narrated before a magistrate court how her husband, Abubakar Salihu, got her pregnant without having physical sexual intercourse with her.

Taibat who is seeking for divorce from her husband, told the court that she wasn’t aware how she became pregnant without having any penetrative vaginal sex with her husband.

She told the court that she doesn’t have any affection for her husband and her feelings hasn’t changed, and that she had refused to marry him when he approached her.

“He said I should marry him, but I said no because I don’t love him. But he insisted and said whether I liked it or not, I didn’t have a choice over his proposal,” Taibat told the court.

She said after rejecting him, he insisted that the marriage between them is a must whether she liked it or not.

Taibat said she got frightened after Salibu to her one day that she was pregnant for him and that she must keep the pregnancy.

“Though surprised, I didn’t take it seriously until I didn’t see my period at the end of the month without having sex with him,” she lamented.

While demanded ₦10,000 monthly for the feeding of the child, Taibat, appealed to the court to also dissolve the marriage.

She pray the court to order the estranged husband to takecare of the child’s upkeeps, as well as the school fees.

On Salihu’s part, he denied Taibat’s submissions, claiming that though she initially refused his advances but as time went on they got along and became lovers.

Salihu told the court that both of them have “consciously” had physical sex numerous times, but not in a dream or in the spiritual realm, as Taibat has claimed.

While asking the couple to maintain the status quo, the Magistrate, Ajibade Lawal, adjourned the matter to Tuesday, July 25, 2023.
