Three Super Eagles players who had a drug test performed on them by CAF in the ongoing AFCON 2023, has turned out negative.
After the match against Cameroon which saw the Eagles emerging victorious with a two goals win, the performance of certain players drew CAFs attention to conducting a drug test on them. The players are Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Captain William Troost-Ekong.
Osimhen’s sterling performance on the pitch which saw him rampaging all through the 90 minutes had raised CAF’s suspicion. He had chased balls earnestly, and his dispossessing of a Cameroonian player and making a low pass to Lookman set pace for the opening goal.
Osimhen’s hardwork in the round of 16 match against the Indomitable Lions had inspired CAF’s insistence to run a drug test on him.
