A notorious terrorist leader knoiwn as Maikusa has been neutralized by the troops of the Nigerian Army.
Maikusa is the second-in-command in the hierarchy of the terrorists’ cell in Katsina state.
The Director, Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, in a statement said that Maikusa was gunned down alongside three other terrorists during a shoot out operation on Monday 4 March 2024. the incident took place at Kurfi and Safana Local Government Areas of Katsina State.
“The ferocious operation also resulted in the successful clearance of terrorists’ enclaves in these areas,” it said.
Maikusa resisted the attack launched by the troops but finally gave in to pressure as the troops overpowered the violent terrorist with the aid of superior firearms. some others fled in disarray as their commander lay in cold blood.
“In continuation of the clearance operations, troops also destroyed terrorists’ camps in Wurma, Shaiskawa, Yauni, and Dogon Marke villages in Kurfi LGA, as well as Ummadau and Zakka villages in Safana LGA.”
