In a bid to enhance bilateral relations and promote air travel between both nations, Nigeria and Angola have agreed to strengthen their aviation ties. The agreement was reached during a meeting between the Nigerian Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, and the Angolan Minister of Transportation, Ricardo de Abreu, in Abuja.
Keyamo stated, “We are committed to deepening our cooperation in aviation to facilitate seamless travel and trade between our countries.”
The agreement includes:
– Direct flights: Establishment of direct flights between major cities in both countries.
– Code-sharing: Airlines from both nations will engage in code-sharing to increase flight options.
– Aviation security: Collaboration on aviation security to ensure safe skies.
– Capacity building: Joint training programs for aviation professionals.
De Abreu emphasized the importance of strong aviation ties, saying, “This partnership will boost economic growth and cultural exchange between our nations.”
The agreement is expected to increase air travel, trade, and investment between Nigeria and Angola, fostering stronger bilateral relations.
Implementation of the agreement is set to commence immediately, with direct flights expected to start in the coming months.
