Doyin Okupe calms down Obi-dients, says he accepted Labour Party VP slot to meet up INEC's deadlines

Dr Doyin Okupe has said that he accepted the slot of the Vice President (VP) to Peter Obi because the party had to meet up with the INEC deadline.

He said this through his twitter handle following the increasing disappointment of youths and followers of Peter Obi over his emergence as Labour Party’s Vice Presidential candidate to Peter Obi.

Okupe said there is currently ongoing discussions between the party and other stakeholders for a better arrangement that can deliver a win for the party and its presidential candidate.

‘It was important that he cleared the air’ , said an ardent Obi Follower.

The momentum surrounding Peter Obi ‘s Presidential Candidature for Labour Party is said to be gaining grounds all over Nigeria. The massive youth followership is said to be increasing, necessitating a merger talk between Labour Party and the former governor of Kano State and presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Reports on Saturday confirms NNPP is in crucial talk with Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi for possibility of forming a coalition.

Kwankwaso had made the arrangement known to the public in an interview with BBC Hausa Service.
