    Africa’s number one tea-producing country, Kenya, is one of the biggest tea producers in the world, right after China and Japan.

    Other tea-producing countries in Africa are Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Mauritius, Malawi, Burundi, Mozambique, Cameroon, Uganda, Congo, and even Rwanda

    Being the world’s biggest exporter of black tea and crop, Kenya, is one of the country’s top hard currency earners, along with tourism and cash sent home by citizens living abroad. Many of the teas are produced using the Cut Tear and Curl method otherwise known as the CTC method and have small pellet-shaped leaves. Kenyan Black Tea is full bodied and malty. one example of a traditional tea drink in Kenya is Chai too which can be made with black tea, milk and sugar.

    Black tea is rich in antioxidants that may provide benefits including improved heart and gut health, lowered “bad” LDL cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels.
