Yam ball is a street snack that is loved by most Nigerians and also very popular in other parts of Africa too.

Yam ballls can be made with propally kept left over boiled yam. It makes the perfect snacks for any time of the day. The fluffy mashed yam is moulded into balls with other deliciousness and covered in breadcrumbs before deep-fried until golden and crunchy on the outside.

It is is very easy to make dish and it can be made vegetarian meal. You can add all sort of goodies to it to make it to your personal preference. One of the ingredients which is important in achieving a crunchy yam ball is breadcrumbs. In the absence of breadcrumbs, you can use flour but I always use breadcrumbs for the golden and crunchy effect.

Yam balls can be eaten as a main meal or snack and can be packed as lunch for children where they can take it in little portions. If it seams to dry to you then you can side it with a sauce such as stew, pepper sauce and chicken sauce, which ever sauce you pick always go well with yam balls.
