About 200 pupils and teachers abducted as bandits storm Kaduna

LGEA Primary School, Kuriga (1), Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State have been besieged by bandits Thursday morning as they kidnapped about 200 pupils and teachers.

The abduction happened around 8:20 AM immediately after the assembly.

Among those kidnapped were the Headteacher and some staff of the school, people revealed.

Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna senator was very sad over the incident and is optimistic that they would regain freedom soonest.

‘’It’s tragic to hear that 232 students have just been kidnapped in Kuriga village, Chikun LG in Kaduna State.

“It’s the same village where a school principal, Idris Sufyan was killed and his wife kidnapped over a month ago. However, I’m optimistic their freedom will be secured,’’ he said.

The junior and senior secondary schools who abandoned their previous building located in the outskirts of town due to insecurity concerns, had been relocated to their present site.
