Barbara Walters dies at age 93

Barbara Walters, the celebrated TV journalist who interviewed world leaders, big stars, famous and infamous personalities has died at age 93.

The death of the legendary journalist was announced on Friday by ABC News

Barbara co-created ABC’s The View, and, above all, was a role model for millions of women in the field of journalism globally.

She was the first woman to co-host the show that’s now known as Today, and also the first to anchor a network evening newscast, and only the second woman to moderate a presidential debate.

Barbara made an indelible impression on the airwaves and the media industry globally. She was the anchor of the The View from its start in 1997 until when she retired in 2014.

In 2000, she was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Daytime Emmys and in her five decade career, Barbara won 12 Emmy awards

In her exceptional career spanning more than four decades, Barbara interviewed every sitting U.S. president from Richard Nixon to Barack Obama. She caught up with Donald Trump in 2015, in the early months of The Apprentice star’s successful White House run.
