Recently, the two wives and five children of the Taraba monarch were kidnapped from their residence in Jalingo by gunmen.

While affirming the recovering of the bodies of the monarch’s family by the Taraba State Police Command, the kidnappers did not establish contact with anyone as their whereabouts could not be traced until their remains were discovered.

According to the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Usman Abdullahi, “It is true that the bodies of the seven members of the monarch’s family have been found.”

He affirmed that eight members of the monarch’s family were kidnapped: two wives, and six children, but one of the children managed to escape from the kidnappers while others were killed.

Collaborating the findings of the police, the monarch attested the discovery of the decomposed bodies of his two wives and five children.

“The bodies of my family members killed by the kidnappers have been found and will be brought to Mutum-Biyu for burial today (Saturday), he said with pains”

Members of the community, blamed the state government over their attitudes towards the matter as no concern for their rescue was shown.

They, therefore, pleaded with the Federal Government to draft additional security operatives to the council to prevent another incident.
