Nigerian born super stars Burna Boy and Wizkid have launched a new song tagged ‘Ballon D’Or which is presently receiving accolades from fans and enthusiasts in the entertainment industry across Africa.
The loaded song was produced by P2j, inspired by Ballon D’Or .
P2j , born Richard Olowaranti Mbu Isong, is a Nigerian, London-based music producer, vocal producer and songwriter who specializes in multiple genres such as afro-house, afro-pop, afro-jazz and afro-rap.
BBallon D’ is a celebrated trophies given to best male football player in the world as a honour for their outstanding professional soccer performance.
Wizkid’s collaboration with Burna opens a new chapter in his career , adding to his retinue of achievements. The star is the first African, to bag an international award from The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), a feat no Nigeria has achieved. The award was in recognition of his role in the award-winning single with Drake “One Dance”, which topped the chart for months and with three Billboard Music Award to his credit.
Although the song is technically Drake‘s single, Wizkid has songwriting credits for the One Dance which has the Guinness World Record as the most played song on Spotify with over 1 billion streams.
Burna Boy, known as the African Giant, joined forces with Justin Bieber on the 8x GRAMMY nominated album Justice and with 9x GRAMMY Award-nominee Sia for “Hey Boy”.
2021 has been good Burna Boy , as the star unleashed his talents in several fronts, expanding his collaboration with list of great artistes: Jon Bellion in “I Feel It”, also in the songs: “Rotate,” by Becky G, “Want It All” featuring Polo G, “Question” ft Don Jazzy, and several others.
Burna Boy is currently nominated for the 64th GRAMMY awards alongside the multiple GRAMMY-award winning Angelique Kidjo for Best Global Performance on “Do Yourself.”
