Basketmouth posted an apology on his Instagram handle asking for forgiveness

Nigeria’s ‘A listed’ comedian Bright Okpocha alias Basketmouth has apologised to those he has offended, specifically requesting for Ayo Makun’s (popularly known as AY) forgiveness.

He posted the apology on his Instagram page on Monday, October 2, 2023, apologising to people he offended.

According to reports, Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth and his colleague AY Makun, have not been in good time for over seventeen years because of an unpaid N30,000 debt Basketmouth owed him. While Basket Mouth side of the story was that AY Makun messed with loyalty by relating a confidential matter to a third party, which was unforgiveable.

After several efforts to settle the duo, Basketmouth had insisted that he will never have anything to do with AY, even after the latter tried to settle the issues with him.

However, it seems Basket Mouth is ready to make peace with AY after all this years of beef.

According to his post: “To my guy AY I don’t know if my apology is still valid right now but if it is please forgive me for whatever I have done or said in the past that affected you in any way please forgive me. And I want you to know that I have forgiven you for whatever you did or said knowingly or unknowingly, it’s gone and I just want us to live in peace and harmony.”

Ready to let bygones be bygones, he also issued an apology to people whom he might have rubbed the wrong way over the years, noting that he does not accept or deny any allegation.

“Now to all the people in the industry and beyond that I have offended over time knowingly or unknowingly I say this to you right now from the bottom of my heart I am genuinely sorry please forgive me and to the people who would have accused me of doing things that affected their career in one way or the other I’m not going to accept or deny these allegations God knows the truth but regardless please forgive me I beg you from the bottom of my heart.” he added

The duo are both successful men in their careers. Bright Okpocha, popularly known as Basketmouth Nigerian comedian, husband, father, presenter, entrepreneur, and musician, and has appeared in many Nigerian films such as ‘My Life’, ‘Surulere’, and ‘Dry’.He has also featured in music videos by popular Nigerian artists such as 2face Idibia and D’Banj and has won several awards in the entertainment industry.

Ayo Makun is husband, father, comedian, radio and TV presenter, writer, producer and film director. In 2009, he was made United Nations Peace Ambassador and also doubles as the CEO of Corporate World Entertainment. The comedian has numerous awards and trophies to his name and credit.
