15 Libyan chefs prepared 2,500 kgs of couscous for the festival
The second Libyan Couscous Day has been held at the Western/Nefusa Mountain town of Qaser El-Haj.
The event was held with the focus to create the single largest couscous dish in the world, says the organisers.
Using 2,500 kgs of couscous, the food was prepared in one giant single dish by 15 chefs, ranked as the best in Libyan culinary industry.
The event which was held on Thursday had an explanatory exhibition of the types of Libyan couscous, their seasons, and the regions famous for the dish.
Varieties of other cultural activities were held side-by-side with the couscous festival, including an equestrian show, an exhibition of the traditional industries of the region, a paragliding jump show and a review of the Brass Scout Troupe.
According to the organiser, an artistic paintings from the Malouf Troupe was also held.
