Dj Cuppy says her Godfather Aliko Dangote is the richest black man

Dj Cuppy, a disc jockey and daughter to one of Nigeria’s richest men, Femi Otedola, recently responded to Kanye West’s claim of being the richest black man.

On the 16th of January 2022, Dj Cuppy made a post on Twitter saying, “random I know… I am a huge @KanyeWest fan. “However with all due respect I feel the need to remind him that he is not the ‘richest black man’ – it is in fact my Godfather @AlikoDangote.”

Cuppy tweet was a response to an interview Kanye West granted Tommy Lee for Hollywood Unlocked, which the American musician and entrepreneur claimed to be the richest black man.

Kanye said in the interview, “my daughter wanted me to go inside. I was like I am the richest black man and North’s [Kanye’s daughter] father, right, and the security was able to stop me from going into the room with my daughter and that had not been defined.”

The crux of the matter was that Kanye was trying to go into Kim Kardashian’s home, opposite his, but was stopped by security. He was relating the story to Tommy Lee when he dropped the “I am the richest black man” comment. It was this statement that triggered DJ Cuppy’s response.
