Says he can not denigrate aunty Vero – Davido’s mother because he lost his mother too at a tender age
Dele Adeleke, a cousin to Nigerian popular musician, David Adeleke – known as Davido has denied the latter’s accusations on social media.
The current feud was exacerbated by online articles denigrating the musicians late mother and the family.
The musician accused his cousin of sponsoring “people” to do his dirty job against him by including his mother name Vero in an online article, which he has denied any involvement.
In his reaction, Dele refuted the accusation, saying he would never allow anyone to denigrate Davido’s mother’s memories as he also lost his mother at a tender age.
He said people had taken it upon themselves to write whatever they want, the way and manner Davido’s fans have been attacking him – issuing death threats.
Further, Dele insisted that he was not that kind of person. He also added that he had maintained decorum in the face of provocation.
Stating that he respects the singer’s decision to support their uncle, he added that the people of Osun state deserve the best and will choose the best man for the governorship position.
The conflict ensued when Dele Adeleke declared his ambition to run against his uncle Ademola Adeleke in the forthcoming Osun governorship election, a move that got Davido infuriated, calling his cousin out on social media as a traitor.
