Nigeria’s very talented musician, Solidstar has come out to share his ordeal in the use of hard substances.
The “Omotena” crooner had revealed in an upcoming Honest Bunch podcast episode that he was first exposed to “ice” in 2021 by some young boys.
Ice, which is a street name for the substance known scientifically as crystal methamphetamine, spreads information rapidly between the brain and th body and also causes sleeplessness for days as well as hyper activity.
The artist revealed that the drug affected him so much in a negative manner and caused him not to concentrate on his music properly. Most often, after he had taken the hard drug, a voice would urge him, “me not to pay for things,” and he would begin to feel like a king.
The star also recalled how he had trekked a seven hour journey from Awoyaya in Ibeju Lekki, Lagos, to the Oriental Hotel on Victoria Island after he had taken the drug.
“A lot of things happened to me. A couple of young boys introduced me to this substance called ice. This was three years back. The thing really affected me a lot,” he said.
“Sometimes this substance will tell me you are king, you are this, you are that, make I no dey pay for stuffs. Can you imagine say I waka from Awoyaya to Oriental Hotel.”
