Here are some Nollywood movies to look out for in the month of November;

Adire

“Adire” is a fascinating tale written by Jack’enneth Opukeme that mirrors the life of a young female fashion entrepreneur portrayed by Kehinde Bankole. She struggles with an ugly past as a sex worker and must confront the consequences while striving to establish a new business.

Directed by Adeoluwa Owu, known as Captain Degzy, the cast comprises of carefully selected cast like Femi Branch, Kelechi Udegbe, Funlola Aofiyebi-Raimi, Ibrahim Chatta, Yemi Blaq, Yvonne Jegede, Lizzy Jay, Mike Afolarin, Tomi Ojo, Damilola Ogunsi, Onyinye Odokoro, Ifeanyi Kalu, and Layi Wasabi.

“Adire” premiered on Sunday, the 29th of October, 2023, and is set to make its theatrical debut on November 3, 2023, across cinemas nationwide. Don’t miss this mesmerizing journey of redemption and transformation.

Bank Alert

Earlier in the month, we welcomed news of the Nigerian comedian, Okey Bakassi taking his entertainment career to the next step, with his first film production.

With Bakassi playing the lead, ‘Bank Alert’ is expected to be a comedy crime feature heading straight to the big screens. Directed by Akay Mason, with the likes of Bolanle Ninalowo, Kate Henshaw, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Taiwo Hassan, Uzor Arukwe and Tina Mba.

‘Bank Alert‘ will make its theatrical debut on November 24, 2023.

Egun

‘Egun,’ is a suspenseful narrative written by Kayode Kasum and Dare Olaitan. The story portrays the lives of employees in a corporate office who receive an unexpected package containing supernatural juju. Just after the package had been received, a phone call came in informing them that all who have seen the contents of the box are bound to meet their doom.

Directed by Carmen Ike Okoro, starring Gideon Okeke, Omowunmi Dada, Uzor Arukwe, Femi Jacobs, Bolaji Ogunmola, Adedimeji Lateef, Olarotimi Fakunle, Yekini Ibrahim, Vee Iye, Tomike Adeoye, Darasim Nadi, Ejiro Onajaife, and Taye Arimoro.

Ifedichie

‘Ifedichie‘, a new film by Nigerian filmmaker and actor, Brown Ene, is gearing up for its official premiere across cinemas nationwide on November 17, 2023. 

The film is produced by Mr Brown Ene  and directed by Keny Basil and Ben Cassie, is a collaborative effort of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Enugu chapter, with support from the Enugu State Government.

In an Instagram post announcing the news, Ene stated that the film was birthed from a talent hunt/film production sponsored by the former Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

Minee (Lawa of the Street)

“Minee,” produced and directed by Richard Omos Iboyi, is a gripping story that navigates an unjust society where a young lady’s mother falls victim to a tragic incident.

The movie unravels the menace of organ harvesting and trafficking. Featuring a talented cast including Daniel Etim-Effiong, Ireti Doyle, Segun Arinze, Priscilla Okpara, Ayo Adesanya, and Kevin Ikeduba.

‘Minee’ is a crime drama that promises to captivate audiences. Keep a date as you won’t want to miss this. ‘Minee’ hits cinemas nationwide on the 3rd of November, 2023.

Ololade

Ololade‘ is another highly anticipated title that recently made headlines with its acquisition by Netflix. This drama series, written by a team led by Lani Aisida, explores the lives of two friends, Frank Donga as Shina, an unhappy high school teacher, and Femi Adebayo-Salami as Lateef, a loud and dishonest auto-mechanic.

Shina and Lateef both became wealthy mysteriously after facing a series of challenges and establish a thriving business. However, they soon face the awful consequences of their actions.

Directed by Adeniyi Joseph-Omobulejo, the cast includes Mercy Aigbe, Mide Martins, Liz Da-Silva, Jaiye Kuti, Damilola Oni, Frank Donga, Mr. Macaroni, Oluwatobi Olubiyi, Debby Felix, and Ayanwale Olanrewaju. This indigenously predominant six-part series will premiere on the streaming platform on November 24, 2023.

Praise Party

Written and produced by Anuli Ajagu, “Praise Party” unfolds a chilling narrative of a family home party that takes a dark and bloody turn when a young man meets a tragic end. Directed by Obi Martins, the cast includes Hadiza Abubakar, Tina Mba, and Kunle Remi. “Praise Party” is a tale of unexpected twists and suspense that will leave you on the edge of your seat.

The Queenstown King

The Queenstown King‘ directed by South African director, Jahmil XT Qubeka’s will begin streaming soon on Netflix. Originally shot in 2022, the film will make its official debut on Netflix on November 17, 2023. The takes us through the story of a young soccer player whose layabout dad and former professional footballer returns home. The film highlights themes of love, family, teamwork, community, and trust. 

Written by Qubeka and Clyde Berning, The Queenstown Kings stars Likhona Mgali, Zolisa Xaluva, Unathi Faku, Sandile Mahlangu, Enhle Mlotshwa, Khanya Mkangisa, Thokozile Ntshinga and Tessa Twala.
