Explosion in Ohinoyi’s Palace, killing 3 ahead of Buhari’s visit

Explosion has been reported in Ohinoyi’s Palace, Okene, a town in Kogi State killing three persons and injuring scores, as President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to visit the state today.

As reported, the blast occurred in the morning of Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Ohinoyi’s palace, the abode of the paramount ruler of Ebiraland, in the Okenne Local Government Area of the state.

The details of the destruction of the explosion is yet to be ascertained as police operatives of the Anti-Bomb Unit are combing the scene and environ for possible undetonated explosives.

President Muhammadu Buhari who will be visiting the state today, to commission projects, is expected to pay homage to first class traditional rulers as part of the protocol. In the current circumstances, it is unlikely if the president will overlook the threat of the explosion, to visit the palace of the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, where the blast occurred.
