The marriage of Nollywood actress Funke Akindele to Abdul Bello popularly known as JJC Skillz has ended.
This was revealed by JJC Skillz on his Instagram page on Thursday, June 30, 2022.
“Dear Friends and family I need to let you know that Funke and I have separated. While it lasted we shared a lot of things together and have created 2 beautiful children. The last two years have been extremely difficult for us,” he wrote.
“I know I have tried my best to fix things but I believe it is beyond repair now. 3 months ago and at Funke’s insistence I moved out of the house and apart from AMVCA have not been able to get Funke to sit down in an amicable manner to discuss the future of our relationship.”
The we are Africans crooner said he had to announce their marriage separation so the public can be aware of their present status as each of them were already after personal life pursuits.
“I’m making this announcement so that the public is clear that we both are pursuing separate lives. We still have issues that need to be addressed such as the custody and wellbeing of our children which is paramount as well as business interests which need to be disentangled but I have no doubt that these will be resolved one way or the other,”
The marital crisis between the two stars was thrust into public domain after the movie star’s stepson, Benito, brought the issue to social media.
The young boy had revealed that the highly applauded Nollywood marriage between the duo was experiencing serious hitches. He went on to reveal that his stepmom, Funke, was an awful personality following reports of crisis in JJC and Akindele’s marriage.
Benito also disclosed that he was assaulted by his father weeks later. The issues between him and his dad sprang up after he was expelled for bringing alcohol, alleging that the music star had hit him repeatedly inside the car on their way home.
The attack had left him with severe bruises on his face, neck and ribs. He also revealed that his stepmom and his dad cheated on each other.
A serious fight had erupted after Funke discovered that JJC cheated on her. She in turn had retaliated by cheating on his dad, Benito stated.
The development is coming barely 24 hours after Funke Akindele’s name appeared on the nomination list for the position of Deputy for Lagos PDP governorship candidate.
