Oyo youths consisting majorly of residents of Ibadan hit the streets on Monday to protest against the rising cost of living across the country.
The Mokola area of Ibadan was brimful of protesters displaying placards with various signs as ‘End food hike and inflation,’ ‘The poor are starving,’ and ‘Tinubu, don’t forget your promises,’ among others.
The protesters were heard chanting songs to show their frustrations. A protester who pleaded anonymity decried the present state of the economy citing that his household could barely feed a meal a day.
The protesters complain that everyday presents difficulties which they aren’t prepared of be it at the market, transport system and healthcare.
