Cabbage Fufu also known as cabbage swallow is a healthy and highly nutritious keto alternative to the regular African fufu dishes. It makes a delicious and savory meal when paired with your favorite African soups.
The ketogenic diet involves consuming a very low amount of carbohydrates and replacing them with fat to help your body burn fat for energy.
So if you want to reduce your intake of cabbage whilst enjoying your swallow every day, this delicacy is for you.
For this recipe, you’ll need green cabbage, psyllium husk, a cheesecloth, and a powerful blender.
Procedures
- Wash your cabbage. You could first use a little salt then rinse twice to get rid of the salt taste.
- Chop the cabbage into medium-sized pieces and blend with a blender till it’s completely pureed, you can add a little water if you have to.
3. Carefully and neatly spread the cheesecloth over a bowl, pour in the blended mix and squeeze very hard to get rid of as much liquid as you can
4. Pour in a pan and place on fire and stir continuously on medium-high heat. After a few minutes, the mixture will begin to thicken.
5. Add in the psyllium husk and stir in a circular motion continuously till it is thoroughly mixed in.
6. As you stir, it will begin to form a dough-like texture, allow it for a little while to achieve your desired texture.
Now your fufu is ready you could dish it directly to a plate or you wrap it up in a fufu wrap for a better presentation.
