Naja’atu says supporting Buhari was a grievous blunder and wont make same with Tinubu
Hajiya Naja’atu Muhammad, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a former Director of the Presidential Campaign Council has said that she will not commit the same political mistake twice in supporting her party’s presidential candidates.
She said supporting President Muhammadu Buhari to power was her must regrettable political blunder and will not repeat same with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
The former official of the APC Presidential Campaign Council announced her resignation on Saturday, as the Director of the Civil Society directorate in the Council and also exited from the party.
Her unceremonious exit from the Campaign Council and party sparked outrage from its members who castigated her leaving as treacherous, and blame it also on her crooked inability to access party funds.
On an interview with Trust TV’s Daily Politics. Naja’atu said:
“I followed Buhari and millions of people followed Buhari because they thought he will change Nigeria for the better but we never gave him an agenda, we never gave him demands, we never had an agreement with him about what we want. So this time around we have to learn from experience.
Buhari discarded all of his followers, he discarded each and every one of us. None of us was taken to the Villa. And all the promises he made concerning corruption, security, agriculture and giving Nigerians an enabling environment, he didn’t fulfil any.
“He is serving on the most corrupt government Nigeria has ever had, he pardoned some of the biggest thieves in Nigeria. You hear of billions stolen by a particular individual and the story goes under the carpet.
“Right now we are hearing of trillions, so what is he saying, he gives directives and counter directives are given, he has failed us, he has failed on his promises. Having said that, if I can make a mistake on Buhari I can not make another mistake on Asiwaju.”
Naja’atu had accused Tinubu for not having any agenda for the North, that the APC Presidential fell asleep after she asked him about the plan he has for the region. She also accused Tinubu of suffering from dementia, that the he often goes off point when asked a question.
She said following President Buhari blindfolded without any agenda was her greatest mistake and that this time, she will not follow Tinubu, who has shown clearly he does not any.
The the 67-year-old former National Commissioner at the Police Service Commission (PSC), has since pitched her tent with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
