Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party in a meeting with the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Abuja on Tuesday ascribed Nigeria’s problems to failure in leadership.

The former Anambra State Governor insists that Nigeria would have been more productive if leaders were getting it right.

“Nigeria is not a producing country. We don’t produce anything. The cumulative effect of what we are suffering today is bad leadership. It’s the leadership that concentrates on sharing. We have to move from sharing formula to production formula,” he said.

In admonishing young people who aren’t doing enough in their productive age, he seeked for more collaboration between the NLC, the Labour Party and all other relevant stakeholders to stem the tide.

“Nobody can be president without sitting down with the labour and every organization to decide the future of Nigeria. We can no longer have a situation where the leaders are here, the workers are there. They must sit on the same table and talk,” he added.

Obi who is perceived as one of the notable candidates to win the 2023 presidential race due to his credible records had decamped from PDP during their primaries in May for the Labour Party.
