    Considering the economic situation, a lot of pregnant women might find it hard to keep to balance diet, especially eating the kind of meal their body needs for the safety of their pregnancy and the growth of the baby.

    No doubt, pregnant women need good and quality food , prepared under hygienic condition, rich in all the necessary vitamins for her and her unborn baby.

    AVOID EATING TO MUCH

    You need not to eat much, like your entire situation depended on the food. In essence , do not eat for two. Control your eating regardless that your condition or situation would make you get hungrier. Yes! That crave, needs to be controlled to avoid certain complications or overweigh baby during delivery.

    FISH AND SEA FOOD

    • Sardines, Salmon, Catfish, Tilapia, Shrimp (crayfish) does wonder to a to pregnant woman’s body because they are loaded with vitamin D, protein, and omega-3 fatty acids that helps in the growth of the baby. Imported seafoods or canned fish should be avoided because of high concentration of mercury, rather locally farmed or cultivated foods are better.

    LEAN PROTEIN

    Lean proteins, such as chicken, goat meat and turkey are good for pregnant woman and her unborn baby because they are rich sources of protein, iron, B vitamins, and other minerals. 

    Iron is required in larger amounts during pregnancy because it is needed by red blood cells to produce hemoglobin. 

    Pregnant women need more iron, especially during their third trimester.
