Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ola Olukoyede,has insisted that the proper application of the rule of law in making arrests, should always be maintained by the officers of the anti-graft agency.

In his new year address to staff, the EFCC boss maintained that the EFCC remains a crucial agency in the resolve for a better Nigeria, devoid of corrupt practices, which deters economic growth in the nation.

Olukoyede further stressed that the application of the rule of law must be deployed in making arrests and bailing of suspects henceforth.

“The major objective of the war against corruption and financial crimes is to drive economic development and create wealth and job opportunities for the populace.

“We need to come to these realities and operate by them. Our Nation is in dire straits. We need to continue to do everything possible to stimulate Nigeria’s revenue profile.
