MSMEs’ access to loans will now be faster, Shettima says

Vice President Kashim Shettima has said that the process for access to loans by Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) will now be treated with urgency.

Shetima said the Federal Government is evaluating the process and also putting in place all necessary structures and measures that facilitates quick access in obtaining loans by small businesses and entrepreneurs to support and consolidate their businesses.

The Vice President made the statement on Tuesday while delivering a message to mark the 2023 World Micro Small and Medium Enterprises Day.

He called on all stakeholders to be united to champion the growth and success of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to achieve sustainable development in Nigeria.

“On this World MSME Day, the government of President Tinubu recognises the vital role that MSMEs play in driving economic growth, creating jobs, and promoting innovation.

“We remain committed to providing support, fostering an enabling environment, and improving access to finance for MSMEs, especially in these unprecedented times.

“We urge all stakeholders to come together to champion the growth and success of MSMEs to achieve sustainable development for all,” Shettima said.

The Vice President said that the Federal Government acknowledges all the numerous problems entrepreneurs and MSMEs are faced with, even more now, given the removal of subsidy

He assures MSMEs of government’s commitment to ensure that they enjoy quick access to single-digit loans for their businesses faster.

“Please note that the president is your partner and here to make life easier for your businesses. Happy MSMES Day,” he further affirmed.
