The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory – FCT, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, has said that there won’t be any room for kidnapping and criminal activities in Abuja anymore.

Wike disclosed this during his visitations to the Area Councils in the Territory, in what was tagged “Confidence visits”.

The heightened activities of criminals – kidnappings and banditry in and around some Area Councils of the FCT, especially the recent incident in Bwari Area Council elicited the firm stand of the minister.

A town hall meeting with traditional rulers, security operatives, intelligence personnel and all stakeholders in the area saw Wike talking tough in his resolution to tackle this looming menace that seems to worsen by the day.

Wike conemned the actions of informants in the area whom are walking directly with the bandits by feeding them information which they used in hatching their wicked motives. He declared sleepless nights for the informants while insisting that their days were over.

He said: “Security is one of the key priorities of Mr. President’s administration. Yesterday (Tuesday), Mr President summoned a high-level security meeting, which includes all the service chiefs, minister of defence, and my humble self, because of recent attacks, particularly in Bwari.

”So, currently, it is one of the key priorities Mr. President’s Renewed Hope Agenda will want to face squarely.
“It is no longer going to be business as usual. My coming here today, is to show you that we are serious. To all those bandits, enough is enough. We will do everything in our power, to make sure this does not happen again.

Wike concluded that President Tinubu has given him approval to provide everything necessary to the security apparatus to aid in their job, and to also indicate the seriousness of the present administration in tackling insecurity.
