The Ogun State Caretaker Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Tunde Odanye, has commended party members for a peaceful and violence-free ward congress held across the state.

Odanye, in a statement, praised the maturity and dedication of party faithful, saying the success of the congress was a testament to the party’s commitment to internal democracy.

“The ward congress was a huge success, and I’m proud to say that it was conducted in a peaceful and transparent manner. This shows that our party is united and ready for the challenges ahead,” he said.

The caretaker chairman also thanked the party’s national leadership for providing a level playing field for all aspirants, saying the congress marked a new beginning for the party in Ogun State.

“We’re now more united than ever, and we’re poised to take over the state in 2025. I urge all members to remain committed and work towards our common goal,” Odanye added.

The ward congress, which held on Saturday, saw the election of new ward executives and delegates for the upcoming local government and state congresses.

Party sources described the exercise as “hitch-free” and “a significant step towards reclaiming the state from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)”.
