Here’s why Peter Okoye threatens to sue and expose bank

Peter Okoye (of Psquare) recently made a post on Instagram, calling out a bank who he claims were aiding fraudsters to defraud the public using his name.

Peter Okoye, one half of the formerly defunct and now reunited Psquare, has been battling calls and messages from fans who claimed to have sent him money and were expecting a larger sum as promised by the scammers on Instagram posing as the artiste.

In his words, “This banks think I’m stupid! Wait till I start calling you all out! It’s either its an inside job or otherwise! I have a name to protect here and save some of this victims! Get ready for me and my legal team! Will u approved me opening a bank account in the name of Aliko Dangote Cement?”

The series of scam follow Peter’s affiliation (or ambassadorship) with the Zoom Lifestyle company. A lottery company that touts itself as ‘an entertainment life-style lottery that offers subscribers the chance to win millions of naira in cash and prizes that cut accross shooting a music video, concert tickets, backstage passes, sport and business mentorship.’

P-square is a legendary music duo consisting of the twin brothers peter Okoye and Paul Okoye. The duo rose to prominence in 2003 with their Last Night album. They have made bangers with the likes of Akon, 2 Face Idibia, Tiwa Savage, Waje, Rick Ross, etc. Their artistry has earned them a BET award, three MTV awards, and several international awards too numerous to count. They parted ways a few years ago, but reconciled recently, on the October 2022.
