President of ADB Adesina meets Tinubu on the sideline of Paris Summit

The current President of the African Development Bank (ADB), Akinwumi Ayodeji Adesina, has met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Paris Summit for the New Global Financial Pact, to discuss on strategic areas of economy development the bank can be of support to Nigeria.

According to the former Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, he said he had a great meeting with President Tinubu and was very much impressed by his steps and commitment to ‘bold and sound policies for Nigeria’s economy’.

He said this through his twitter handle as he promise that ADB will support the President’s economic development vision for Nigeria.

The president left Nigeria to attend the summit on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, joining 50 global leaders, representatives of world organisations in attending the summit, which spans two days – from June 22 to 23.

New Global Financial Pact presents a global opportunity for countries to address key issues bothering on reform of multilateral development banks, debt crisis, innovative financing and international taxes, special drawing rights (SDRs).

Akinwumi Adesina succeeded Abba Sayyadi Ruma as Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development in 2010.

He was elected into office as the President of African Development Bank on the 28th of May, 2015. He was again nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari for re-election as the president of the Bank
