FIFA President Gianni Infantino has responded to the continue lashing of the 2022 World Cup host Qatar, given the country’s human right abuses and deaths of migrant workers.

Given the unending criticism of Qatar, Infantino has said he has no reason to defend the host country.

Addressing the media on Saturday, the FIFA President blasted Europeans, who he said have no moral grounds to judge Qatar considering what they have done to others for over 3,000 years.

As reported by Sky Sport, he said: “Today I feel Qatari, I feel Arab, I feel African, I feel gay, I feel disabled, I feel a migrant worker.

“For what we Europeans have been doing around the world in the last 3,000 years, we should be apologising for the next 3,000 years before starting to give moral lessons,” he posited.

The FiFA boss expressed his sadness openly over the unruly behaviour and denigration peoples across the world have endured for thousands of years in the hands of Europeans.

“Of course, I am not Qatari, I am not an Arab, I am not African, I am not gay, I am not disabled. But I feel like it because I know what it means to be discriminated against, to be bullied, as a foreigner in a foreign country.”

“As a child, I was bullied – because I had red hair and freckles, plus I was Italian so imagine. I went in my room and I cried,” he said.

As the criticism of Qatar increases , the country has thrown its borders opened to lovers of footballers allover the world.

Few hours to the final kick-off of the world cup, Qatar will take on Ecuador in the opening game of the tournament which is scheduled to begin on Sunday.
