You have been involved with different Africa Magic projects. If you could, just tell us some of the works that you have done with them

Africa Magic has been part of the story from the onset. In fact, MultiChoice in general. I mean I started off from Big Brother and my first ever appearance on screen was on Africa Magic, it was called Hustle. It was me, Ochuko and Dayo, so that was pretty much how I started. Responded the super star

What was your first reaction when you saw the script for your new movie, Slum King?

He opined that the script for Slum king was much and on seeing it he was scared.

So how did you get over that fear?

The slum king lead actor expressed that he had a zoom meeting with the director and other cast where every body talked about their characters After that, he went through the script over and over again to master the script.

So how are you feeling about the series?

He said it was exciting watching as an audience and seeing massive positive feedback online.

You have become the go-to guy for action roles in Nollywood, you have carved a niche for yourself in that space, haven’t you?

yes he said he likes it and would be super exciting to do a horror movie where he will play the villain and lover boy.

I remember seeing you with your plaque at the AMVCA, how did that make you feel?

He said he was happy and it was just for him. He believe in hard work, and he preaches hard work over smart work.

So Big Brother, everybody knows that’s how it all started off for you, why didn’t you make it to the all-stars?

“Yeah, it was cold, but you know, I think the things I had to do, everything I had going on at the time, it just didn’t match. I couldn’t have that in my space at the time” Said Tobi Bakre

What is a typical script like for you personally?

He replied that its does not only depend on the script but on the actor who needs to understand the Nigerian audience, the script, the crew and other cast.

So have you gotten to the point where you reject scripts?

He responded that he has not gotten to the point where he would reject script because he is still learning however he will keep a certain standards.

Africa Magic, I mean, since we started this conversation, you’ve pretty much mentioned them a lot of times, MultiChoice in general. I want to know how much they have impacted you?

He gave credit to Africa Magic, to DStv and GOtv, for the work they have done over the years because they inspired him as a boy by the content the put out there.

Okay, now for Slum King, what would you say to people who have not caught on yet?

So for you guys that haven’t caught on, well, it replays during the week so you can watch and on Sundays. So the previous episode shows from seven to eight, and then you watch a new episode from eight to nine. Tobi Bakre responded.

But what’s the toughest character that you’ve been that you’ve had such a hard time detaching from?

Every character he has played has a part in him hence he constantly reminds himself of who he is.

Okay, so what’s the future for you? Are you ever going to be a director or a producer?

So my principle in life is whatever ideas God has given you to do right now, do it to the very best of what you can do and eventually, it opens doors for the next phases. So that’s where I am right now. Responded Tobi Bakre

Congratulations on all things happening to you, you are having an amazing year

Thank you
