The Opta computer has projected the Super Eagles of Nigeria as favourites to win the 2023 AFCON presently ongoing in Ivory Coast. This comes after the elimination of powerhouses as Senegal, and Morocco.
The Super Eagles are rated on a 28.8% chance of winning the tournament as they prepare for an exciting quarter clash against Angola on Friday.
The Eagles are rated as top contenders considering their sterling performance thus far after they drew their first match and won the other three.
Mali trails closely with a 14.7% chance, followed by host nation Ivory Coast at 13.5%.
DR Congo and Cape Verde round out the top five, while South Africa, fresh off their victory over Morocco, sits at sixth.
