Super Eagles goalkeeper, Nwabali receives Rivers Highest honour, N20m, from Fubara

Rivers State governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has honoured Super Eagles goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali over his conquest at the just concluded AFCON 2023 in Ivory Coast where Nigeria won a silver medal.

The Rivers State governor who posited that his administration will sustain purposeful governance which will ensure that Rivers people will bring honour to the state, hosted the Super Eagles goalkeeper at the government house in Port-Harcourt.

The Governor said he is committed to providing leadership and enabling environment for his people to feel encouraged an do the right thing which aligns with what he has been doing in advancing the affairs of Rivers State globally.

He was full of praises for Nwabali alongside his teammates in the just concluded AFCON 2023 tournament stating that their performance was a sterling and remarkable feat.

Fubara said: “I want to join the great and wonderful people of Rivers State to congratulate you, our brother Stanley Nwabali and our wonderful team. We are here again in just about four months after your winning a local trophy.

“Today, you have brought a national trophy. So, when people say or talk behind to ask what we are doing, we are achieving those things that are not, maybe, seen physically but they give joy and fulfilment.

“If we have not encouraged you in a way that motivated you, you won’t be where you are. So, it is part of purposeful governance, administrative efficiency. So, I want to thank you and assure you that we will continue to do our best.”
