Tobi Amusan of Nigeria has set a new record in the women’s 60 meters indoor hurdle as she clocked 7.75 seconds at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix in Boston.
The 26-year-old blitzed across the indoor circuit on Sunday to retire the 7.77 seconds record she set at the Astana Indoor Meet, Kazakhstan, in January.
The African record set by Gloria Alozie was surpassed by Amusan on January 27 i n her first race of the season.
The 26-year-old sprinter emerged victorious in the 60m hurdles final, securing the top position ahead of American Nia Ali and Ireland’s Sarah Lavin.
It is noteworthy that Amusan became the first Nigerian to win a gold medal at the World Athletic Championship in 2022.
