The name Rolex is goten from “rolling of egg” which describes the meal.

It was first originated in Busoga, before popular among students in Kampala, because it’s quick to prepare and can be eaten at any time of the day, from breakfast to a lunch or supper meal or snack. This delicacy spread out fast to other part of the world because of the low cost and how satisfying the meal can be, and it is also named one of the best African fast food to try when visiting Uganda.

Rolex can take less than 5 minutes to prepare, and can be found on roadside stalls across Kampala and other urban towns in the country. It is made with eggs, vegetables like tomato, onion and cabbage then rolled in a chapatti.
