The Nigerian army has requested that media houses and executives of related profession and other organisations use the officially approved portraiture of the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja.
The request was posted on the official twitter handle of the Nigerian army, July 1, 2023.
General Lagbaja is the 23rd Chief of Army Staff of the Nigerian Army. The information on the twitter handle requested that “all pictures of the COAS from his former Commands” be disregarded forthwith.
The Army said the one it released to the public is henceforth the “approved official portrait” of the Chief of Army Staff.
Major General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja was among the service chiefs recently appointed by President Bola Tinubu on 19 June 2023 to succeed Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya.
He assumed office as Nigeria’s 23rd chief of army staff (COAS).
The army chief was born 28 February 1968.
