Zobo drink which is also known as the Hibiscus sabdariffa tea is a refreshing drink which has its name root from the Northern part of Nigeria.

It is believed that, this refreshing drink with so much medicinal and nutritional value originated from Africa, specifically from west Africa.

Some of the benefits accrued to this drink includes; relief from menstrual symptoms such as cramps, hormonal imbalance e.t.c

According to a research in the cancer letter journal, the “zobo leaf” contains contains hibiscus protocatechuic acid which has antitumor and antioxidant properties which may help to slow down the growth of cancerous cells.

The method of preparation is simply boiling the zobo leaf,cloves(konafuru), ginger and pineapple for some minutes

Then extract the drink by straining

After cooling, add any flavour of your choice.

Serve either hot or cold.
